Maths and Science Series 2012
Who is involved?
Cisco is working to deliver unique learning activities. Our goal is to maximise the visibility Cisco’s role as the official network infrastructure provider of London 2012 and use it as a springboard to promote learning and great teaching.
We are investing in the teaching of maths and science by providing students and teachers with extra support. All state-funded secondary schools in the UK will receive activity books, course guides and supporting materials, such as exclusive video content. School teams entered into the Maths and Science Challenge will also be in with a chance to win London 2012 Games tickets. The Maths and Science Challenge is being run in association with STEMNET and will be the STEM Challenge 10 – ‘Out of the blocks’.
Why Maths and Science?
The biggest sporting event the UK has ever seen will be an incredible technological challenge. With more consumers using mobile devices and wanting 24/7 access to media, there is great demand for engineering and networking expertise. Making these solutions work is down to the world-class mathematical abilities and scientific calibre of our engineers, architects, contractors and team of organisers.
London 2012 is proof that maths and science can make things happen on a global scale.
That’s why we want to inspire young people by bringing maths and science to life within the classroom. With our support, today’s young students can be at the leading edge of tomorrow’s technologies and future innovations.
